Adam Barney – .NET

Adam Barney has been writing code in one form or another since the 4th grade and has been 100% focused on .NET since 2005. He is currently a senior-level consultant living in Lincoln, NE where he co-founded and runs both the Lincoln .NET Users Group and Nebraska Code Camp. Adam also enjoys speaking at user groups, code camps, and developer conferences in the Midwest.

Chris Penick – CISSP

Chris Penick is CISSP certified and has been a consultant and CISSP trainer in the technology industry for the past 20 years. During that time, he has worked as Principal Learning Consultant for Symantec, webmaster for the FDA, cyber-warfare scenario developer, technical investigator and forensic analyst for a private security firm. His past government clients include all branches of the United States Military, the Department of Commerce, the IRS, the U.S. Custom and Immigration Service, the Executive Office of the President, and state and local governments in Maryland, Michigan, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. His corporate clients include Guess, Inc., EMC, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and the Discovery Channel.

Duane Anderson – CVSE, CVE, Security+, CPTE, CPTC, CDFE, CEH, VMTraining Certified Instructor

Duane has been working in the IT industry for over two decades. He has primarily focused on security related matters such as Penetration Testing and Forensics. He has appeared as an expert witness in multiple court hearings on IT related matters. Duane has worked for or with most US and some foreign military branches, U.S government agencies, banking and regulatory industries and Fortune 500 companies. Duane contributed to the coordination and execution of IT counter-hacking & security courses for the US Marine Corps, US Army, US Air Force, U.S. Treasury, Sprint, IBM, Washington Mutual and Service Canada.

Sandra Batakis – A+ Trainer, MCT, MCSE, CIW

With over 25 years of experience, Sandra currently maintains her status as Senior Microsoft Certified Instructor and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, as well as Software and Network consultant. She possesses extensive hands-on IT Networking experience, including building computer networking infrastructures and implementing and migrating to Microsoft Exchange. Throughout her career, Sandra has delivered numerous Microsoft and CompTIA classroom-based as well as online Boot Camps and Seminars across the United States.

Tracy Berry

Tracy has been a senior programmer, instructor, and consultant for over 18 years. She has utilized Microsoft Office applications in many different forms including marketing materials, multimedia solutions, and websites. Over the years she has demonstrated great versatility in these products, producing content of many different forms for many different types of clients. She now teaches both online and onsite and has her CTT (Certified Technical Trainer) certification.

Shannyn M. Burch

Shannyn has operated in a variety of roles over the course of her 15 years of experience in the sales industry. In addition to her experience as a sales manager and consultant, Shannyn has worked as a trainer, a training manager, and a senior trainer. She is currently a learning manager and has been involved in many high-profile large-scale projects, many of which were focused on new product launches.

Debbie Fierst

Debbie Fierst owns a thriving technology training, consulting and development firm she started in 1990. A summa cum laude graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, Debbie holds various technical certifications. She teaches more than sixty software applications and programming languages in both online and in-person venues, but she specializes in business and project management topics. Her presentations are packed with strategies, statistics, real-life examples and common-sense messages.

Drew Fierst

Drew Fierst is Senior Developer/Analyst for a thriving technology training, consulting and development firm. Over the years, he has taught thousands of students everything from basic programming concepts and language syntax to highly advanced concepts and techniques. A magna cum laude graduate of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Drew teaches dozens of software applications and programming languages, specializing in .NET, SQL Server and other database environments.

Chris Givens

Chris is the CEO of Architecting Connected Systems, a courseware development company focused on high-end courseware around Microsoft Technologies. In addition to course-ware, ACS also provides high-end architectural services to clients in the government and life sciences industries. Chris’s past experiences include Microsoft, Avanade, several technology startups in the Seattle area and a 5-year career at IBM. Chris grew up in Oklahoma and is a computer science graduate of the University of Tulsa.

Shon Gerber – CISSP

Shon Gerber is certified in CISSP, SecurityPlus, and NetworkPlus. He currently works for a Multi-National Corporation in various security roles including Senior Security Architect, Security Operations Center – Manager, and Chief Information Security Officer. Shon has a military background of 24 years in service for the US Air Force where he went from flying B-1 Bombers to commanding an 82-person Air Force Red Team tasked with both physical and network security penetration testing. He’s passionate about his work and brings that passion to his instruction.

Nichole Hoskins Goudreau

Nichole has been a licensed attorney since 2002 and has advanced training in trial advocacy. She has worked in both criminal and civil legal environments, both as a prosecutor and as a private attorney. She has also trained hundreds of future criminal justice professionals as an instructor and has developed continuing legal education programs for attorneys.

Shon Harris, CISSP, MCSE

Shon Harris was a valued expert at Career Academy and throughout the entire information security community. As the founder and CEO of Logical Security, Shon contributed immensely to the information security industry. The entire Career Academy community was devastated to learn of Shon’s passing on October 8th, 2014 after battling a long illness. Her work here as an instructor, reseller, and business partner will always be appreciated and remembered.

Shon was an information security consultant, a former engineer in the Air Force’s Information Warfare unit, an instructor and an author. She authored three best- selling CISSP books, was a contributing author to numerous others, and a technical editor for Information Security Magazine. Shon also developed hundreds of information security products published by various publishers.

Shon consulted for several Fortune 500 companies, including American Express, Warner Brothers, Bridgestone/Firestone, Citibank, CitiFinancial, AOL, Cisco, and many more. She also taught computer and information security to a wide range of clients including RSA, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Security Agency (NSA), Bank of America, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), BMC, and more. Shon was recognized as one of the top 25 women in the Information Security field by Information Security Magazine.

Kevin Henry

Kevin is an international author, consultant and international speaker. He is the official course development writer for ISC2 CISSP, ISACA CRISC and mile2’s C)ISSO. Kevin has been educating IT professionals for over 30 years. He also provides cyber security consulting and support services for organizations around the world. Assisting them with setting up Information Security programs and addressing areas ranging from in-depth risk analysis to policy creation and security awareness.

Recently, Kevin authored the latest C)PTE – Certified Penetration Testing Engineer prep guide titled: ISBN# 978-1-84928-371-7

Johnny Justice

Johnny has been in the U.S. Army for over 12 years working as a Counterintelligence Agent (Computer Forensics, 7 years). he has been teaching UNIX/LINUX, Network Essentials, and Theories and Application / Digital Technology at the college level and has developed several high level Linux and Digital forensics course curriculum. Johnny holds a variety of certifications: C)DFE, CEI, CSSA, ECSA, CHFI, Linux+, and CEH.

Johnny authored the Certified Digital Forensics Examiner course at Mile2 and was recently featured in eforensics magazine. He graduated Magna Cum-Laude in 2012 from Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s of Science degree in Computer Science Education.

Angela Kegler, PhD – Chief Learning Officer at The Kegler Group

Since 2004, Angela has provided training to organizations of all sizes around the world. As a scholar-practitioner, Angela is sought after by many organizations to provide training programs and consultative development strategies because her programs are known to result in positive organizational improvement. Angela is part of the Duquesne University alumni where she earned her MBA and MS in Leadership and Business Ethics. In addition, Angela has her PhD in Organizational Development and Leadership from Capella University. Randy Kohler

Randy has over 20 years of both consulting and instructional experience. He has an extensive background in government sector as well as the financial industry. He’s an expert in Microsoft applications, network security, penetration testing and ethical hacking. Randy has contributed towards the development of the Certified Penetration Testing Engineer labs.

Patrick Loner

Patrick has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, specializing in Microsoft operating systems, from Windows NT 4.0 up to Windows 10. He has worked as a Microsoft Certified Trainer and as an IT consultant, helping companies deploy new operating systems and servers. Patrick has experience in both the deployment and support aspects of Microsoft operating systems.

Dr. Kozhi Makai

Kozhi has a BA in psychology and speech communication, a Master’s in business communication and a PhD in applied management and decision sciences. All this has enabled him to help many people become more effective in the workplace by teaching the important correlation between communication, behavior and business. Kozhi’s goal is to help people function more efficiently at work, which in turn helps them function more effectively in their day to day lives.

Kenneth Mayer – CEI, CCSI, MCT, CCNT, CCNP, CCDA

As a certified Microsoft Instructor, Ken has focused his career on various security aspects of computer and network technology since the early 1980s. He has offered a wide variety of IT training and high level consulting projects for Fortune 500 companies globally. Through the course of his extensive career, he has taught a full line of Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, and other high level IT Security curricula.

David R. Miller (CISSP, MCT, MCSE: Security Windows Server 2003, MCSE Windows 2000 and NT 4.0, CISSP, CEH, ECSA, LPT, CWNA, CCNA, CNE, CompTIA Security+, A+, N+)

David is a technical writer, trainer, author, curriculum developer, network engineer. David began as a technical trainer in the mid 1980’s providing instruction on PC based medical therapy devices. David achieved his CNE in the early 1990’s and then founded MicroLink Corporation in 1994 in Dallas, Texas performing network installation and user training. After attaining his first Microsoft certification in 1997, he began teaching the MCSE track at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He joined an MCSE, boot camp style, private training institution, Intense School in 1999 and was Director of training there until 2002.

He worked closely with Shon Harris, best-selling author of CISSP fame, for the last several years as Director of Training for Logical Security, LLC. There he has managed several teams of curriculum developers. He acts as corporate IT Director and coordinates the development of student manuals, lab manuals and classroom setup.

Robert Moore – C|CISO, CCNP, CCNA, CCAI, MCITP, MCT

Robert has more than 20 years of expertise in the fields of sophisticated networking, information, and telecommunication technologies. He has worked as an Information Technology Consultant and Instructor, consulting and training in the networking realm of the IT Industry throughout Europe and USA since 2005. Clients include the United States Military, Mercedes Benz, Deutsche Telekom, and Diversion German Government Entities.

Erin Olsen – M.Ed.

Erin has been involved in the computer training industry for over 15 years. She founded Powerhouse Publishing, a desktop publishing company. When software and printers reached a point where many people could produce their own quality graphic designs, Erin transferred her skills to the training realm in order to teach people how to use the technology they had available. She’s a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor and a Microsoft Certified Trainer.

Tim Pierson

Tim one of the World’s leading trainers in technology, networks, virtualization and, applications. He has been a technical trainer and consultant for security and virtualization for the past 25 years. He has 29 industry technical certifications from CISCO, Microsoft and Novell. Tim has been a noted speaker at many industry events such as Infosec World 2010, Innatech and GISSA. He is a contributing author of VMware vSphere and Virtual Infrastructure Security Securing ESX in the Virtual Environment.

Tracy Preston

Tracy has been in network and information assurance in both the corporate and government agencies since 1995. Tracy has secret military clearance and has earned over 20 industry-recognized certifications that include the CISSP, C)ISSO, C)PTE, C)DFE, ISO 27001, MCSE, CCNP, CEH, CHFI, Comptia A+, Network+, and Security+.

She is an expert in Cyber security, Cisco Networking as well as the ISO 27001 & 8570 DOD standards. Tracy is a mile2 Master instructor and curriculum developer.

Susan Schmit

Susan is a technically trained CPA who has spent much of her professional career at the Manufacturing Controller for the fortune 500 company, Corning Incorporated. She has held various technical and manufacturing accounting rolls, such as serving as the President of ECT Solutions. She was also a college professor of accounting for 5 years. Susan currently works as a Controller at Persistent Systems.

Carlo Tannoury

Carlo has worked in the computer technologies industry since the mid-90s. He is also a certified member of Microsoft, Cisco, ISACA, PMI, CompTIA, IIC, and EC-Council. He has designed and customized courses for private and public sectors, including college curriculums, and has worked as a lead consultant engineer in corporate Cyber security and Information Assurance training since 2001.

Patrick Von Schlag

Patrick has worked in the Information Technology field for over 25 years and brings his extensive expertise to our courses. He has helped establish IT service management programs for a variety of organizations including pharmaceutical, energy, and software companies. Patrick was a part of one of the original service management teams in the United States. He has been a member of several CompTIA boards and is a member of the ITSM forum.

Jeff Weiss

Jeff has held a broad spectrum of positions within the IT field for over 30 years. Jeff has owned and operated his own IT business and has installed and supported networks and data centers at almost every level of the IT world. Jeff has recently authored both courseware and exams for Microsoft. For over 15 years, Jeff has worked as a consultant and trainer with a focus on the design of Enterprise Architecture, as well as Windows and VMware networks.

Stephen Short

Stephen Short has 20 years of experience in Managing Networks and Network Security. He is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) as well as a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI). Steve holds many certifications, including CompTIA Security + and CyberSec First Responder (CFR).

Kevin McCarty

Kevin McCarty is a computer professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry as a programmer, project manager, database administrator, architect, and data scientist. He is a Microsoft Certified Trainer with over 25 individual certifications in programming and database technologies and serves as the chapter leader of the Boise SQL Server Users Group. A former Army officer and Eagle Scout, he holds a doctorate in Computer Science and a lifelong love of learning.

Don Kiely

Don Kiely is a featured instructor on many of our SQL Server and Visual Studio courses. He is a nationally recognized author, instructor, and consultant specializing in Microsoft technologies. Don has many years of teaching experience, is the author or co-author of several programming books, and has spoken at many industry conferences and user groups. In addition, Don is a consultant for a variety of companies that develop distributed applications for public and private organizations.

John Glover

John has over 30 years of both IT and cyber security consulting experience all over the world. John has worked for CIDA –Canadian International Development Agency, DND, and various Canadian government and private sectors executing numerous consulting assignments. He’s an expert in Disaster Recovery, IS Management, Cyber Security Control implementation, Auditing and Risk Management.

John has over 20 years of instruction experience teaching IS Management, Top 20 security controls, DR – BCP, Auditing & Risk management courses and has taught over 300 CISSO/CISSP courses.

James White

James has served as the president and principle consultant at SkillSet Technologies, Inc. for over 15 years. He holds certifications in CISSP, MCSE: Security, CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician and more. His specialties include networking, security, and compliance engineering.

Gregor Dzierzon

Gregor Dzierzon, MCSD, MCDBA has over 15 years of experience architecting and developing solutions using C#, VB.NET, SQL Server, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services, but most of his work has been with web development using ASP.NET, C#, JQuery, and AngularJS. He is a Senior Software Engineer and Software Architect who has owned a Software Consulting Company. He has 12 years of training experience and travels nationally as well as internationally to Canada and the UK to deliver training.

Claude Williams

Claude L. Williams has over 17 years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, and certification education. Mr. Williams has a diverse management and information security background, and has worked primarily in the U.S. DoD environment as an integrator and executive consultant to various military and civilian agency CIOs.

Mr. Williams has authored numerous white papers and case studies related to enterprise systems management and supporting business processes with information technology. He has authored curricula in collaboration with Microsoft, Novell, and numerous training organizations and academic institutions. He has successfully developed and administered customized cybersecurity programs for notable organizations in support of internal initiatives.

Philip Wheat

Philip Wheat is an industry veteran who has been active in the computer industry for over 20 years. With experience stretching back to the beginnings of the PC era, he has remained active on the leading edges of technology, focusing on embedded systems, knowledge management, and sensor technologies. He is one of the few who has worked with SharePoint since the original beta, has built his own microprocessor, and has had robotics projects featured in the press and TV shows around the world.

Syed Raza CDesk

Syed graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1995 with a BBA in Finance. Subsequently, he obtained an MBA from Concordia University, LLB and DBL degrees from University Law College, and PhD in Management Sciences. Brett Hooper

Brett Hooper is known around the interwebs as @AlohaCode. He is a seasoned software engineer, technology consultant, and instructor. His IT career has spanned decades and includes many gigs with Fortune 200 clients including major banks, insurance companies, and tech firms. Over the last few years, Mr. Hooper has worked for the US Dept. of Defense in an effort to prove the way forward for the US Military’s next generation of mobile and web applications. He has produced many technical trainings throughout his career and is delighted to bring this one to you.

Brett Romero

Brett Romero is a software engineer and entrepreneur. He started several businesses, and Bitesize Business School is the latest, where he writes about applying business principles to the real world and solving technology issues that every online business face. The first business he created, Cygen, was a web design consulting business. From this business, he created the first product – A chatroom web application that was javascript based.

He has written desktop applications in languages running from Delphi to C# winforms/WPF. He’s also built ASP.NET webforms and MVC based applications. When the iOS SDK was first introduced, He bought a Macbook and began building apps for the iPhone. He currently has seven apps in the iTunes App Store. He has an MBA from ASU (’14). His undergraduate major was in mathematics. Before graduating, he decided to get a business degree. he continued taking mathematics courses at the University of Washington after completing his undergraduate degree.

John Ulliman

John Ulliman is a founder of On The Wave. His studio has been producing Business Catalyst websites, rich Internet applications, Flash media, and instructional videos since 1991. He also provides live and recorded instruction on Adobe tools and web design. John lives in Oakland, CA.

Alex Garret

Alex is a PHP developer, with years of Laravel experience. Alex is also the founder of Codecourse, where he teaches people to code with screencasts. Alex loves breaking complicated topics down so they make sense, and can help with general advice or specific questions related to PHP, Laravel, Slim 3, Silex, Vue.js (or Vuex), HTML and CSS.

Jordan Hudgens

Jordan Hudgens has certifications for Ruby on Rails, Thinkful; Ruby on Rails, Bloc.io; Front End Development, Thinkful; and AngularJS, Thinkful. He is currently vice president of engineering for TRACKR in Midland, Texas and is working on his PhD in Computer Science from Texas Tech. In addition to Ruby, Jordan works with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Postgres, CSS3, C, C++, C#, Objective-C, and Python. He also works with the frameworks Rails (Ruby), Zend (PHP), and Django (Python), plus the libraries AngularJS, jQuery, and Backbone.js.

Sondra Nelson

Sondra Nelson is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and has been teaching Microsoft Office for over 15 years. She has teaching and consulting experience with high school students, college students and corporate employees.

John Kidd

John Kidd is a nationally recognized instructor and consultant who travels the country sharing his expertise in java enterprise, SCRUM, and big data and related technologies. John has over 20 years of teaching and project development experience including roles from developer to vice president of research and development.
